Holiday World invades Indiana skies with 1st audience-participation drone show, fireworks

Holiday World & Splashin' Safari is invading the Indiana skies with the nation's first audience-participation drone show and fireworks spectacular starting this weekend.

The amsument park's "Holidays in the Sky" will feature 500 drones, fireworks and a dance party including a DJ, interactive bubble wands and more for 44 nights, according to a press release.

"We were pioneers in the theme park drone show field,” said Holiday World director of communications Leah Koch-Blumhardt. “When Holidays in the Sky debuted in 2022, only two other parks in North America had drone shows. Now, the major Orlando parks are introducing drone shows, and we’re staying ahead of the curve with interactive light-up toys and the first audience participation in a drone show.”

Holiday World has upped the ante for the drone show of years past to offer "Holidays in the Sky" as the nation's first audience-participation drone show, featuring 500 drones with new animations and music.

Guests will vote daily beginning when the park opens until 5 p.m. CDT to determine the final scenes of the show. QR codes throughout the park allow guests to vote for one of the park's 4 mascots to be featured in that evening's show.
