‘Home Improvement’ star arrested for DUI once again: ‘I’m sorry I like to drink’
OKLAHOMA (KTLA) — Actor Zachery Ty Bryan, who famously starred as Brad Taylor on the ’90s sitcom “Home Improvement,” has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence for the second time this year.
Bryan was arrested in Oklahoma on the morning of Oct. 25 and booked in Custer County for allegedly driving under the influence without a valid driver’s license, according to sheriff’s office records obtained by Deadline.
Fox News obtained dashcam footage of Bryan being taken into custody by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. The outlet reports that Bryan refused to take a sobriety test and was placed in the front seat of the officer’s vehicle before being taken to jail.

“I’m just a good dude, man. I don’t know why everybody… I’m sorry I like to drink,” Bryan told the trooper in the video.
According to the probable cause affidavit obtained by Fox News, Bryan was found sleeping in the back of his Range Rover, which was parked on the side of the road. A trooper parked up the road from Bryan, who then started his car and drove by.
The trooper pulled Bryan over, and he reportedly confessed to being “intoxicated.” From there, the first trooper was called to take over the arrest.
Bryan told authorities he went out the night before and “down a secret road” and pulled over because he knew he “couldn’t drive.” He then said he was “running from California right now” and explained that he “hates that place.”
The two troopers talked about Bryan’s license being suspended due to a previous DUI.

When asked if it was just one DUI, Bryan paused and said “Oh no, I’ve had multiple.” He then bowed his head down and said, “Everyone depends on me, man.”
As one trooper directed Bryan to the front of the car for sobriety tests, the actor reportedly said he just wanted to sleep. When asked if he felt safe to drive, Bryan said, “No.”
After a brief exchange, the trooper explained that he was placing Bryan under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.
This isn’t Bryan’s first arrest for a similar charge this year.
In February, he was arrested in LaQuinta, California, after he displayed “indications of impairment” during a traffic stop.
Last summer, the former child actor was arrested in Oregon for alleged domestic violence, robbery, and harassment charges, according to Nexstar’s KOIN.
He faced similar charges in Oregon in October 2020 following a fight with his girlfriend, police said. While most of the charges were dropped, Bryan ultimately pleaded guilty to assault and menacing charges in 2021 and was sentenced to 36 months of probation and fined $200.
From 1991 to 1999, Bryan played the role of Brad Taylor, son of Tim “The Toolman” Taylor, in the Tim Allen-led sitcom “Home Improvement.” Throughout the years, he appeared in 2006’s “The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift” and 2009’s “Thor: Hammer of the Gods.”
According to IMDB, his latest work was in 2022 in “The Guardians of Justice (Will Save You!)”
