Hootie & The Blowfish to return to Nashville for 2024 performance
Thirty years after the release of 1994's double-diamond-certified debut album "Cracked Rear View" -- one of the top 10 best-selling albums in music history -- Hootie & The Blowfish will return to the road in 2024 for 43 announced concerts nationwide.
On July 27, 2024, the performers of "Hold My Hand" will play Nashville's Bridgestone Arena.
General on-sale for concert tickets begins Nov. 10 at https://www.hootie.com.
The foursome's sets out on the "Summer Camp with Trucks" tour will feature Collective Soul and Edwin McCain serving as supporting acts.
"Basically overnight, our lives changed when 'Cracked Rear View' did what it did -- and yet as we quickly moved from vans and college bars to tour busses and arenas, not much else changed with how we approached making music and sharing it with our fans," reflects Hootie's Mark Bryan.
"Edwin McCain told someone at the time that touring with us felt like summer camp with trucks… and that's exactly how we want next year to feel, too."
The dates also mark the first full tour for the Grammy-winning band, comprised of Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, Darius Rucker and Jim "Soni" Sonefeld, since 2019.
For the past 15 years, the band has been on a semi-hiatus, performing charity concerts and compiling material for the 2019 album "Imperfect Circle," which preceded their most recent touring cycle together.
On Nov. 30, 2021, the band helped the EXIT/IN celebrate its 50th anniversary with a surprise set at the venue.
In 2022, drummer Sonenfeld released the memoir "Swimming with the Blowfish: Hootie, Healing, and One Hell of a Ride: A Story of Redemption," chronicling what a press statement referred to as "the band's rise, fall, and rebirth, as well as his path from addiction to recovery and a more fruitful life."
Lead singer Rucker wrote the book's foreword.
The tour kicks off May 30 in Dallas. It runs through Sept. 28 in West Palm Beach, visiting arenas, amphitheaters and select stadiums, including Boston's Fenway Park (which will feature special guests Barenaked Ladies).
