Performance Music at The University of Scranton will present a recital featuring soloists Trevor Nuckols, horn, and David Ball, organ, at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the university's Houlihan McLean Center, Mulberry Street and Jefferson Avenue, Scranton.

Nuckols began studying horn at age 12 under the tutelage of Michael Corcoran, and furthered his studies at the Interlochen Arts Academy with Gene Berger, where he won the Young Artist Award. He received his bachelor's degree from The Juilliard School, and is pursuing his Master of Music degree as a Kovner Fellow. Nuckols — a student of R.J. Kelley — won first prize at The International Horn Society's Premiere Soloist Competition and The Juilliard Concerto Competition, among other accolades.

A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Ball received his Bachelor of Music degree from The Juilliard School. He is pursuing his Master of Music degree there under the tutelage of Paul Jacobs. Ball — who appears frequently with soloists, chamber groups and orchestras — has won numerous awards and honors, recently performed a recital at the AGO convention in St. Louis, and will perform as an AGO Rising Star at the 2016 National AGO Convention in Houston, Texas. Aside from solo recitals, he also performs duet recitals with Dr. John Romeri on the largest musical instrument ever built — the Boardwalk Hall Organ in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Ball also created liturgical music, serving as the assistant musician at St. Malachy's — The Actors' Chapel in Times Square, New York.

Admission is free. For information, call 570-941-7624, email [email protected] or visit scranton.edu/music.
