Brooklyn hip-hop trio 41 scores its first entry on the latest, Oct. 12-dated Billboard Hot 100 chart, thanks to its new collaboration with NLE Choppa, “Or What?”

Released Sept. 6 on NLE Choppa/Warner Records, the track debuts at No. 91 almost entirely from its streaming sum: 5.7 million U.S. streams – up 79% – Sept. 27-Oct. 3, according to Luminate. The week before, it soared by 73% in streams.

The sharp gains can be attributed in large part to attention on TikTok. The song has soundtracked over 150,000 clips on the platform to date; it blasted from No. 44 to No. 3 on the Oct. 5-dated TikTok Billboard Top 50 tally.

While “Or What?” earns the trio its first entry under the 41 artist billing, its members previously charted together with “Bent,” via their individual artist monikers Jenn Carter, Kyle Richh and TaTa. The track reached No. 37 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in December 2023. It also became a modest radio hit, reaching No. 35 on Rhythmic Airplay.

Kyle Richh has logged two other chart appearances outside of “Or What?” and “Bent”: as featured on Megan Thee Stallion’s “B.A.S.,” which reached No. 5 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 and No. 49 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs in August, and with “Beckham” (with Dee Billz, Kai Swervo and KJ Swervo), which hit No. 16 on the TikTok Billboard Top 50 in July.

41 released its debut mixtape 41 Ways in April 2023 and its follow-up EP 41 World: Not the Album in November, both on RiteOrWrongKVH Entertainment/Republic Records. Earlier this year, Billboard named 41 one of its 15 hip-hop and R&B artists to watch in 2024.
