Tragic details have emerged surrounding the final moments of Liam Payne, who fell to his death from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in Argentina on Wednesday.

A hotel guest documented the disturbing sequence of events, seemingly corroborating earlier reports that the deceased singer was under the influence of drugs and acted erratically at the high-end hotel.

Liam Payne's former One Direction bandmates have since shared their condolences on his passing, sending thoughts and prayers to his friends and family.

The tourist, who identified herself as Rebecca, met Payne in the lobby of the hotel around 4.26 pm local time and said he was seemingly disgruntled about his exit from One Direction as he told her he "used to be in a boy band," and "that's why I'm so f-cked up."

"I came into the hotel, and he was waiting by the elevator, and it was so clear he wanted someone to recognize him," Rebecca recalled. "There was something a bit desperate about him."

She told the news outlet that a friend of hers was supposed to get Payne's suite but that he hadn't checked out at about 4:30 pm, leaving the hotel staff "on edge," also because of his behavior.

"I came into the hotel, and he was waiting by the elevator, and it was so clear he wanted someone to recognize him, there was something a bit desperate about him," she said. "I was with my friends and we did know who he was, but none of us were that bothered."

Rebecca noted that although she and her friends opted against disturbing the singer, he spoke to them as they waited for an elevator.

"When the lift came he suddenly said to us without any prompting, 'Yes, I'm Liam!' really drawing it out, and then said 'All right come on you lot, get in the elevator with me, I love a cuddle,'" she said.

"I decided against it and waited for the next one, but some of the other girls got in with him, and halfway up, he started saying 'Oh, you're Americans, I live in West Palm Beach,'" she continued, adding that Payne quipped, "I know Americans. You guys are f-cking crazy! You guys are f-cking dangerous!"

Rebecca then alleged that Payne "grabbed" a girl who she thought was with him and started "fake choking her" lightly; however, "the others thought it was alarming."

She also noted that Payne began reading his emails on a sofa, wearing a white vest, cargo pants, and trainers. It was particularly concerning for her as the singer seemed to have toggled on his system's accessibility settings for disabled users.

"I have a blind relative and I realized he had the laptop on its accessibility setting, for some reason, so that each time he moved the mouse, hovering over something the machine spoke out loud to say where the cursor was," Rebecca explained.

She went on, "I assumed he was doing that for the attention too. Then he opened his emails and saw one which obviously upset him. Suddenly he took the computer, shouted 'f-ck this sh-t mate!' and started bashing the computer on the ground."

Payne's behavior seemingly left fellow guests and hotel staff concerned as his behavior was "so out of place." Rebecca said she went over to ask him "Are you OK?" but "he just kind of grunted," before he said he's "so f-cked up" because he "used to be in a boy band."

The tourist seemingly corroborated earlier reports that the "Midnight Hour" singer was "off his heads on drugs" as she said his behavior alluded to her suspicion.

She claimed that a British guy named Roger, who was with Payne, came over to apologize for his behavior and said, "I'm sorry, he just gets so high sometimes."

"I did wonder what these people with him were doing to help him, but maybe they had tried and failed. The hotel staff were freaking out and watching him really nervously. I could see one of them was on the phone to what I assumed was security or the police," she said.

She tried to pick out why he was hanging around the lobby but failed at it, suspecting he was planning to meet someone to supply his drugs. He then returned to the lobby, where he "tripped and fell flat on his face, sprawling across the floor."

"The staff came to help him and get him back in the elevator, and that's when I took the last photo," she said, referencing a photo she shared with the news outlet. "You can just see the arm of the English guy who was with him, holding the lift door open before taking them up to the third floor again."

"It wasn't long after that when the police arrived, and initially we thought they were just going to kick him out, but then when the staff started running around like crazy, we suddenly realized the seriousness of what had happened," Rebecca explained.

She added, "Some of my friends had seen him falling; it was awful, and at first, they thought he might have just injured himself, but then we saw the body out in the courtyard, and later, they brought him out on a stretcher, it was all so horrible."

Payne died instantly on the spot after falling from the third floor of the hotel, suffering a fatal injury to his skull.
