Hozier brings Unreal Unearth tour to Azura Amphitheater Friday. Here’s what to know
Some artists were made for outdoor concerts, like alternative rock singer Hozier.
The Irish-born star is fresh off headlining performances at music festivals Lollapalooza in Chicago and Hinterland in St. Charles, Iowa, and brings his Unreal Unearth tour to Azura Amphitheater, an open-air arena at 633 N. 130th St. in Bonner Springs Friday.
Born Andrew Hozier-Byrne, the singer gained fame for his hit song “Take Me To Church” in 2013 and has remained popular since. He currently has 53 million monthly listeners on music streaming app Spotify and his latest song “Too Sweet” reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving him his first No. 1 hit.
Temperatures will be in the mid to upper 70s and reach as low as 61 on Friday night, according to the National Weather Service. Here’s what you need to know before you go to Hozier’s show.
How much are tickets?
Face value tickets are sold out on Ticketmaster, but prices on resale sites sit in an affordable range as of Thursday:
SeatGeek: $52 for general admission on the lawn, $70 for a seat.
StubHub: $56 for general admission on the lawn, $71 for a seat.
Tickets For Less: $81 for general admission on the lawn, $108 for a seat.
Vivid Seats: $58 for general admission on the lawn, $75 for a seat.
Prices for SeatGeek, StubHub and Vivid Seats are before fees, while Tickets For Less does not have fees.
What time does Hozier go on stage?
Doors open for the show at 6:30 p.m., and opening act Joy Oladokun takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Hozier appears at around 9:10 p.m.
The parking lot opens at 5 p.m., and VIP club members can enter the venue at 5:30 p.m. Parking costs $20 in the general admission lots and $30 for VIP parking spots.
“Please plan to arrive to the show early as we are expecting a large crowd,” Azura Amphitheater said on a Facebook post.
What if I’m getting dropped off?
If you are getting dropped off by friends, family or a ride-share at Azura Amphitheater, the venue says you should enter the VIP parking entrance at 126th Street and State Avenue and follow the signs.
If a friend or family member is dropping you off, communicate with them ahead of time about where to find you at the pick-up destination on State Avenue. Cell service at Azura Amphitheater is spotty since there are expected to be over 19,000 people at the concert.
You may be waiting for a while because of the number of people attending, so you may want to dress appropriately for the nighttime weather.
