Hugh Jackman’s Close Friendship With This A-Lister May Make Potential Dates Feel ‘Threatened'
After Hugh Jackman split from his longtime wife Deborra-Lee Furness, many have wondered when he’ll get back into the dating game. And apparently, one of his pals wants to reportedly play matchmaker, but their friendship may make potential dates feel “threatened” by it.
Okay, let’s step back: did you know that Jackman and Taylor Swift have been pals for well over a decade now? Many believe that since Swift is so close with Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, she then started a friendship with Jackman.

But nope, a source told Life and Style Magazine, “Taylor has been close to Hugh for a long time. They first got to know each other more than a decade ago when she was up for a role in Les Misérables.”
(Jackman was the lead in the 2012 film, Jean Valjean, and Swift allegedly auditioned for the role of éponine, which went to Samantha Barks.)
They added, “She didn’t end up getting cast, but he was a huge supporter to her through the process and mentored her. So they built a real bond that lasted.”
The source told the outlet that they lean on each other quite a bit with this friendship, and it may be seen as threatening to potential dates.
“They really have each other’s backs, and it’s a very sweet friendship that proves men and women really can be friends without anything weird getting in the way,” they said. “She’d really love to see him with a new woman, but she doesn’t push it. Finding him someone worthy is certainly on her radar. She has him on such a pedestal that it’s a little hard for her to find anyone that meets the high standards she’s set for him because she sees him as such a catch.”
They added, “When Hugh does start seeing someone new, it may be a little tougher because it’s hard to imagine a woman not feeling threatened by Taylor and how close she is to Hugh.”
Now, does this bother Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce? Nope, “In a lot of ways, [Hugh is] like an older brother to her, and Travis is perfectly okay with it,” they said.
Hopefully, this friendship continues to thrive, and that Swift can help our one of her closest buddies int he industry!
