How Hugh Jackman & Sutton Foster Reportedly Found a Way To Keep Rumored Romance 'Private'
After Sutton Foster filed for divorce from her husband, Ted Griffin, after 10 years of marriage this week, the whispers about a possible relationship with Hugh Jackman went into overdrive. The former co-stars in the Broadway revival of The Music Man might have fallen in love during their run of the show if sources are to be believed.
A Page Six insider is claiming that is exactly what happened between the 56-year-old Deadpool & Wolverine star and the 49-year-old actress. The duo reportedly managed to keep the romance under wraps by meeting up away from prying eyes. The source described them as “inseparable” behind closed doors. “They spend all of their free time together,” one source said. “They are a regular couple; they are just in private.” Another insider also noted that “they sneak around” undetected — well, those days are probably over, too.

Foster is currently starring in the revival of Once Upon a Mattress on Broadway and Jackman attended the production sometime in August. The divorce filing is what seemed to tip off suspicions about Foster and Jackman, who split from his wife of 27 years, Deborra-Lee Furness last September. Still, the Younger star was making moves that might have indicated a split from Griffin was coming. She put her Tuxedo Park, New York home on the market last December and it sold for $2 million in May, per Realtor.com.
The duo worked together from December 2021 until January 2023 and their affair was an “open secret on Broadway,” according to In Touch Weekly. “[Sutton and Hugh] have been inseparable,” the media outlet’s source alleged. “Everyone in the theater world has seen the chemistry between them. It was only a matter of time before the truth came out.”
Foster gushed about Jackman in a 2022 interview with Vogue that now might raise a few eyebrows. “He has an impeccable reputation of being the hardest working man, incredibly kind, and generous. And all of that is true. He disarms everyone and he doesn’t make anything about him,” she praised her co-star. “And he’s now become one of my best friends, which was a surprise because you usually go into these things thinking, ‘Well, I hope we get along.’ But we just spent Memorial Day with our families. It’s really fun to meet new friends after 40.”
Neither Foster nor Jackman have addressed the rumors. Foster shares a seven-year-old daughter, Emily, with Griffin. Jackman and Furness are separated and have not filed for divorce yet, and both of their children, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 19, are now adults.
