Hulk Hogan Discusses Sex Tape Lawsuit With Gawker Media on 'The View'
Terry Bollea, better known as the wrestler Hulk Hogan, was on The View and discussed his recent lawsuit with Gawker Media. Bubba Clem, Hogan’s former friend, filmed a sex tape of the WWE star and Clem’s wife without Hulk’s consent. “I called Bubba and said, ‘What’s going on with this?’” Hogan said. “I didn’t know there was a sex tape out there in the beginning.”
The tape made its way to Gawker, which released the video online. Hogan was awarded $140 million in the lawsuit, but the victory doesn’t soften the regret he has for being involved in the situation in the first place. “I have a ton of regrets about it. It’s the worst decision I’ve ever made in my life,” Hogan said. “I was in a really bad spot, and I knew it was wrong and it felt wrong and it was a horrible decision.”
Hogan also addressed racist comments he made during the tape. “Probably the stupidest thing I’ve ever said,” he explained, saying the statements stemmed from issues with his daughter Brooke’s boyfriend. “Everybody that knows me knows I’m not a racist.” Despite the embarrassment he experienced and the uphill battle ahead involving a long appeals process by Gawker, Hogan is able to draw energy and strength from his children and wife.
