The restaurant opened in late 2019 at 9980 Linn Station Road as a different concept and turned into Cask Southern Kitchen & Bar amid the coronavirus pandemic.

At the center of the space sits a rectangular bar decorated with draping plants and light fixtures. Signature cocktails, priced at $10-$11, come with names such as the “Kentucky og,” billed as the best Old Fashioned in town, and the “Mama said there’d be days like this.” Several local beers are on tap and Cask boasts a large bourbon collection.

The menu covers a wide span of options, from a cup of gumbo to a smoked meatloaf sandwich to a pan-seared ribeye. There are midday specials called “Lunch Box,” including bowls, smaller starters and the option to order a half-sized sandwich and soup or salad.
