Ice Cube has announced plans to release his eleventh studio album, which will be titled Man Down. The West Coast icon recently revealed the news exclusively to Chuck D’s RAPstation, during which he confirmed that recording for the album is currently underway.

“I’m working on an album that hopefully I can finish in next couple of weeks and schedule to put it out and yeah, I’m digging what I’m doing,” the 54-year-old said. “The name of the record is called Man Down and, you know, it’s a pretty good record. It like it. It’s dope.”

In late 2018, Ice Cube released his tenth studio album Everythang’s Corrupt, which saw the rap veteran keying in on the sociopolitical overtones that have defined his work for more than three decades. Debuting at No. 62 on the Billboard 200, the album received positive reviews, with many critics and fans commending Cube for showing no signs of rust despite the eight-year layoff between projects.

Releasing his debut album, AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted in 1990, Ice Cube has been hailed as one of the greatest rappers of all-time, with albums like his 1991 effort Death Certificate being listed among the most pivotal bodies of work in the genre’s history. In addition to teasing new music, Cube will be hitting the stage in Los Angeles this Friday (Sept. 29) as part of legendary radio station KDAY’s 40th anniversary celebration.
