Ice Spice Makes ‘Saturday Night Live’ Debut, Introduced By Taylor Swift

Ice Spice’s impressive rookie campaign continued this past weekend, as the 23-year-old rapper debuted as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live and received a special introduction by Taylor Swift.

The Bronx rapper performed her December 2022 record “In Ha Mood” in her first set and her new single “Pretty Girl” featuring Rema in her second onstage appearance.

Right before she and the Afrobeats sensation were about to get into “Pretty Girl,” Swift appeared onscreen to introduce her “Karma” collaborator. “Once again, Ice Spice,” the superstar said. Check out Spice’s performances below.

It was an exciting evening all around, as former SNL cast member Pete Davidson made his debut as host for SNL’s season 49 premiere following the WGA strike.

This is the latest major achievement for Ice Spice, who has ascended to stardom over the last year. She took home the Best Breakthrough Artist trophy at the BET Hip-Hop Awards last week and received similar recognition at the MTV Video Music Awards in September when she was crowned Best New Artist.

The “Bikini Bottom” artist also partnered with Dunkin Donuts’ in September for the limited edition Munchkins drink and sat alongside Ben Affleck in the promotional trailer. “I’ve always been a Dunkin’ girl!” Spice said about the collaboration. “Collaborating with Dunkin’ and Ben Affleck on this spot was a dream. The drink has a fun twist, a little something in the name for my fans, too. I can’t wait for everyone to try it.”

As if that isn’t enough, the Like..? artist received another major co-sign from none other than Barack Obama, the former President of the United States. Obama included Spice and Nicki Minaj’s “Princess Diana” on his annual summer playlist, which also featured SZA’s “Snooze,” J Hus and Drake’s “Who Told You,” Burna Boy and 21 Savage’s “Sittin’ On Top Of The World,” and more.
