Ice-T Applauds Kendrick Lamar For “Potential Gang Truce” In Los Angeles

Ice-T has nothing but praise for Kendrick Lamar following his now legendary “The Pop Out: Ken & Friends” show, especially for unifying the West Coast. The iconic emcee took to Instagram on Saturday (June 22), where he uploaded a post with a picture from the show honoring Nipsey Hussle’s life and legacy.

During that post, T showered K. Dot with love for his concert and seemingly putting together a “potential gang truce.” The entertainer even went so far as referring to it as a “cure for cancer” for Black people and people who grew up/around gang culture. “A Potential Gang Truce in LA is like a Cure for Cancer for us,” Ice-T typed. “Extreme Respect to @kendricklamar.”

And the moment wasn’t lost on Lamar either. After Kendrick performed “Not Like Us” for the fifth time, he gathered all of his family, and friends—including rival gangs—on stage for a family portrait. The critically acclaimed lyricist spoke to the beautiful moment of peace, telling the crowd, “This sh*t making me emotional. We been f**ked up since Nipsey died. We been f**ked up since Kobe died. This is unity at its finest. We done lost a lot of homies to this music sh*t, to this street sh*t. For all of us to be together on stage, that sh*t is special. Everybody on this stage got fallen soldiers.”

Snoop Dogg, much like Ice-T, noticed what Lamar had managed to do for the West Coast, and he gave him his flowers. The rapper, who Drake infamously mimicked with AI in his battle against Lamar, took to IG live from Canada to share his thoughts on Dot’s “Pop Out” show.

“Sending a big shout-out to K. Dot and all the homies from the West that stood together unified, organized in peace [and] love,” Snoop gushed. “That was fun to watch. Beautiful to see all my peoples come together… K. Dot, you are the King of the West. That’s the kind of sh*t kings do, we unite.”
