Ice-T Delights 'Law & Order' Fans By Taking a Shift at Raising Cane's
Ice-T is celebrating National Iced Tea Day this year by serving up, well, iced tea.
The iconic rapper turned actor partnered with fast food chain Raising Cane's in honor of the holiday, celebrated on June 10, for a collaboration that just seemed perfect, given his stage moniker.
Ice-T, born Tracy Lauren Marrow, appeared in a video promotion where he came out only when someone ordered an iced tea, further encouraging (or rather, jokingly pressuring) customers to indulge in a sweet vs. unsweet variety of the beverage.
Donning a red t-shirt featuring the chain's logo, he stood behind the counter taking orders, while making sure people ordered iced teas to compliment their meals.
"Celebrate National Iced Tea Day with Cane's iced tea—the only tea as fresh as me," the "New Jack Hustler" rapper proclaimed at the end of the clip.
"It was nICE of @IceT to stop by for National Iced Tea Day!" the eatery captioned the social media upload.
Fans were delighted at the sight of the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star's cameo in the snippet, piling into the comment section with their reactions to the commercial.
"I'd have one sweet iced tea with a dash of Fin Tutuola," one joked, referring to the actor's character on the long-running police procedural, which he has portrayed since 2000—the role that has actually earned him the title of the longest-running male actor on a primetime television series, according to Entertainment Weekly.
"We love Tutuola!!??????," another echoed.
A third fan was completely amused by the ad, admitting, "?????????? I absolutely love this. Wish I was in it. ??"
"Ice-T sweetly convincing people to drink sweet tea on National Iced Tea day," someone else noticed, as yet another quipped, "Bros celebrating national iced tea day by ordering an iced tea while talking to ice t."
