An Iconic Piece Of History Is Getting Altered On General Hospital
It’s been a rollercoaster leading up to Chase and Brook Lynn’s wedding on General Hospital, between Gregory’s health ailments and Dante’s shooting. On the April 5, 2024 episode, yet another setback got in the way of their big day.
Something Borrowed
After a stressful day of wedding dress shopping, Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) finally convinced Tracy (Jane Elliot, who had a little help from her friend) to let her wear her great-grandmother Lila’s wedding dress. While Tracy chose not to wear it for her wedding, Brook Lynn’s mom Lois (Rena Sofer) had the honor of wearing it for her 1995 wedding to Ned (Wally Kurth).
Tracy gave Brook Lynn the freedom to make any alterations she needed, but that plan hit a snag when Brook Lynn learned from her seamstress that the material of the dress was too old to alter. When Lois approached her mom about a wedding dress issue, Lois, being Lois, first assumed the worst, asking if there had been a fire or burst pipes or if squirrels had destroyed it. But when Lois found out the true problem, she immediately got on the phone to try and solve it for her daughter.
History Gets Altered For The Altar
On the phone with the seamstress, Lois learned of unsalvagable and yellowed pieces of the beloved dress, but when she asked about the crinoline, excitement filled her voice when she found out they were intact. Brook Lynn took the phone and simply said “That would be amazing!” before offering to come in soon for a fitting.
Of course, it couldn’t be all fun and games for Brook Lynn and Lois. When the two arrived at the Metro Court for Brook Lynn’s meeting with Natalia (Eva LaRue) and apologized for being late due to a “wedding dress emergency,” Natalia immediately questioned it, saying she had never heard of that kind of emergency before. Blaze’s “momager” later questioned Brook Lynn’s ability to be Blaze’s music manager when her wedding dress made her late for an important meeting.
Do you think the new alternations to Lila’s dress will still honor its history? Let us know in the comments.
