Iconic 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' cast dines at popular Ormond Beach restaurant

Cast members from one of the ‘90s most iconic sitcoms recently enjoyed an evening in one of Ormond Beach’s most raved-about restaurants.

On Saturday, several stars of "Sabrina the Teenage Witch" enjoyed a night filled with food, drinks and Instagram reels at Granada Boulevard’s 63 Sovereign.

In a playful reel posted to actress Melissa Joan Hart’s Instagram page, followers see Hart seated next to several castmates — including Elisa Donovan, Jenna Leigh Green, Soleil Moon Frye and Nate Richert — as they share a pair of reading glasses with a caption that reads “Friends that grow old together …”

The hit series premiered in 1996 and ran for seven seasons, ultimately receiving two Emmy nominations.

Why was Melissa Joan Hart in Ormond Beach?

The cast, who was in Daytona Beach for ‘90s Con at the Ocean Center over the weekend, reached out to the restaurant ahead of time and was seated in the establishment’s upstairs lounge, said 63 Sovereign co-owner Sergio Faenza.

“The lounge is pretty casual. It’s not like a regular dining space, so most of the time we do like hors d’oeuvres and small plates,” Faenza said. “(Hart) did order one of our large plates — the osso buco and she was raving about that.”

Richert said in an interview with The News-Journal Saturday morning that when the cast arrived in Daytona Friday, they met for dinner in their hotel lobby.

"You get a little tired, and you're like what's the quickest, fastest thing, and that's sort of what we did," he said.

But they certainly made up for it Saturday at the Ormond Beach favorite.

What does 63 Sovereign think of the cast of 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch?'

While the local restaurant has had its fair share of NASCAR stars visit over the years, the iconic cast’s planned dinner was the first of its kind at 63 Sovereign, the restaurateur noted.

Hart’s caption in the same Instagram reel went on to tag the Ormond Beach eatery, calling it “incredible!”

“It’s super exciting and very humbling, you know? We’re just very appreciative that they picked us out from a pool of restaurants in the area and chose us to want to come hang out with and spend some time enjoying our food, drinks and atmosphere,” Faenza continued.

“We were super excited, and our staff was over the moon … there was an overwhelming sentiment by the staff as to how unbelievably nice and accommodating they were with picture requests and just chatting with the staff. (The cast was) just very down to earth and kind — super cool.”

63 Sovereign was also recently featured in The News-Journal’s “Best Local Bites,” praised for its innovative menu of globally-influenced cuisine, stellar cocktails and unparalleled staff.

The restaurant is located at 63 W. Granada Blvd. in Ormond Beach and is open 5 – 9 p.m. Tuesday, 4 – 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 4 – 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. For information, call 386-238-9032 or visit 63sovereign.com.
