Iggy Azalea says she's off the market as she flaunts diamond ring: 'I'm not' single
Iggy Azalea is definitely not single, and is probably engaged to boyfriend Playboy Carti, as evidenced by the huge diamond ring the 29-year-old rapper showed off during a Thursday appearance on The X Change Rate.
When host Monét X Change asked Azalea if she was “currently single,” the “Fancy” singer flashed the giant rock on the ring finger of her left hand and replied, “No, I’m not. I’m not.”
Though Azalea did not confirm or deny the engagement, she did dish on her relationship with Carti, who she has been dating since September.
“The nicest thing that my guy does for me is he tells me when if my wig lace is showing. He’s always like, ‘Babe, I know it can look better. It doesn’t look like it’s growing out of your head,’” Azalea shared.
She added, “It’s usually when I put it on [myself]. He’ll come out and be like, ‘I think you should wear a hat.’”
She recalled another time Carti commented on her wig. “Sometimes I have to take my wig off, you know, at night, and then I'll put it back on in the morning,” she shared. “I left it in my glam room and…we were going out somewhere and I hadn’t put it on yet and he was like, ‘Where do you think you're going, Lil Bow Wow?’ I was like, ‘I’m going to put it on so just relax!’”
Azalea playfully pretended to take offense, before clarifying how much she appreciates her guy’s honesty. “I love you. Thank you for not leaving me out there in public like that.”
“I want a man like that,” Monét interjected.
“That’s real love,” Azalea said. “If you can walk around with your wig off, looking a hot mess in the house.”
Earlier this month, Azalea shared a pic of the ring in an Instagram post, but Thursday was the first time she has spoken publicly about it.
However, Carti opened up about their relationship to Fader in June. “Once I started talking to her, I just cut off everybody,” he said. “It was over with. I support everything she does.”
Azalea stopped by the talk show on Thursday to discuss her highly-anticipated sophomore album In My Defense which dropped on July 19.
“It’s your first album in five years. Why now?” Monét asked.
“Well, I finally escaped and now I’m free!” the singer said, alluding to her drama with previous record label, Virgin EMI. “That’s why. So now, you can’t get rid of me. Nobody can make me leave.”
In January 2016, through a series of now-deleted tweets, Azalea called out Virgin EMI President Ted Cockle for holding her back as a performer, concluding “ted cockle doesn’t wanna see me shine.” In November 2018, Azalea signed a multi-year partnership with Empire Records.
In My Defense is her first album from the new label. Now, the only person trying to stop her from shining is Peppa Pig. The popular animated children’s character released her debut album last Friday, the same day as Azalea’s album dropped.

“I always get the worst luck. You know, my album that came out a million years ago, the one people cared about, it lost out in sales to Frozen. I thought I’d finally picked a week where I was like, ‘OK, I can kill it this week. Nobody’s coming out.’ Then f***ing Peppa Pig. Why am I cursed with the kid-bop killing me every time?”
But with the bling she’s rocking, we’d say Azalea is quite the lucky gal. Take that, Peppa!
