The Impossible Heir Episode 8: Lee Jae-Wook discovers Lee Jun-Young’s game plan
Episode 8 of The Impossible Heir saw Kang Oh Group Chairman Kang Joong-Mo discovering more about Go Mi-Jun. Apparently, Go Mi-Jun’s mother, Bae Yeong-Eun, was a villa employee who died in a hit-and-run accident 22 years ago. Moreover, Mi-Jun went to school with In-Ha. Joong-Mo realized Tae-Oh was set up and looked for the truth. Meanwhile, Tae-Oh’s appointed spy planned to visit Go Mi-Jun. However, he witnessed In-Ha going into Mi-Jun’s house. The following day he informed Tae-Oh about Mi-Jun’s mother.
Mi-Jun was ten years old when he moved into In-Ha’s villa. After his graduation and before heading to Seoul, he spent seven years living in the villa with In-Ha. Tae-Oh realized the truth about In-Ha’s collaboration with Mi-Jun.
Tae-Oh met with his prison mates while moving to a new detention center. They were the men whom he had met while at university. These men had come searching for Hye-Won, asking her to repay her mother’s debt. Meanwhile, In-Ha desperately wanted Tae-Oh to get the death sentence in his final trial. The scene cut to a flashback when In-Ha saw pictures of Tae-Oh and Hye-Won kissing.
At night, In-Ha physically assaulted Hye-Won. He confessed to only pursuing Hye-Won because Tae-Oh liked her first. The following day, Hye-Won visited Tae-Oh in prison, advising her to ask Joong-Mo for a place at the foundation. Moreover, Tae-Oh insinuated that he didn’t want to take over the Kang Oh Group anymore as he had other plans.
Meanwhile, Hye-Won confidently asked the Chairman for her seat at the foundation. By that time, Tae-Oh got a hold of a phone from his prison mates. However, In-Ha discovered Park Sa-Jin’s daughter worked at the Seongdong Penitentiary. It is possible that the daughter is the doctor who helped Tae-Oh in the previous episode. In-Ha later received a call from the Chairman, who ordered him and Hye-Won to join them for dinner.
The following day, Tae-Oh caught hold of a phone and hid it before leaving to meet a visitor. However, he discovered that the visitor was his mother. He refused to meet her, but she was already gone when Tae-Oh changed his mind. The same night, Tae-Oh realized that the fourth person on the night of the murder wasn’t Mi-Jun.
Tae-Oh ordered the spy to find out who the fourth individual was. The spy found out about a person named Roy, who’d been faithful to Mi-Jun. Although the spy and his men caught hold of Roy, they failed to capture him. At night, Roy visited the club when Mi-Jun stabbed him to death. In-Ha was also at the scene and plotted with Mi-Jun to kill Tae-Oh.
The following day, Hye-Won visited Tae-Oh once again. Only this time, she revealed how In-Ha assaulted her and also expressed that the three couldn’t go back to what they were before. She wanted to control the group and asked Tae-Oh to help her. He agreed with even more determination than before.
At the family dinner, Joong-Mo officially appointed Hye-Won as the planning director of the foundation. Although family members were against his decision, Joong-Mo stood firm. In-Ha, who also didn’t know about Hye-Won’s plan, confronted her. However, Hye-Won hid her intentions by wanting to stay within the family.
By the end of the episode, Mi-Jun ordered the detention center’s prison guard to kill Tae-Oh. Later that same night, Tae-Oh left to meet a visitor. Meanwhile, In-Ha found out about the spy and visited him.
