Independent Artist Group Signs Actor & Comedian Eddie Griffin
EXCLUSIVE: Veteran actor and comedian Eddie Griffin has signed with Independent Artist Group across the board, Deadline has learned.
Appearing in over 50 films and TV shows over more than three decades, Griffin won an NAACP Image Award from multiple nominations for his starring role in Malcolm & Eddie, a sitcom that aired on UPN for four seasons.

Appearing alongside Dave Chappelle, Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper in the latter’s Academy Award winner A Star Is Born, he’s also been seen over the years in titles like the Denzel Washington thriller John Q, blaxploitation pic Undercover Brother, Armageddon, the Deuce Bigalow comedy franchise, Eddie Murphy starrer Norbit, Date Movie, Scary Movie 3, and My Baby’s Daddy, which he wrote, exec produced and starred in for Miramax.
Previously, Griffin also voiced the role of Richard Pryor on Adult Swim’s animated series Black Dynamite and starred on BET’s The Comedy Get Down. He earned strong marks for his dramatic turn in the David E. Talbert play A Fool and His Money and also notably contributed and performed on Dr. Dre’s multi-platinum selling albums The Chronic and Chronic 2001.
Recognized by Comedy Central as one of the Top 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of all time, Griffin has had residencies in Las Vegas performing his unique brand of stand-up for the past 18 straight years at the Sahara, the Rio and currently at the Saxe Theatre at Planet Hollywood, with a show titled Eddie Griffin Unleashed. Past specials have included Undeniable and You Can Tell ‘Em I Said It! for Showtime and Comedy Central, respectively, as well as E-Niggma’, Freedom of Speech, Dysfunktional Family, and Voodoo Child.
