The Golden Bachelorette star Joan Vassos has only three suitors left following the October 23 hometown dates episode: Chock Chapple, Guy Gansert and Pascal Ibgui.

Joan, 61, sent Jordan Heller home after his hometown date in Chicago. In a preview for the Wednesday, October 30, episode, the remaining seniors will be traveling to Tahiti for the fantasy suite dates where the Rockville, Maryland, school administrator will get some alone time with her final men.

While Joan’s history with her ex-husband of 32 years, John Vassos, who died in January 2021 from pancreatic cancer, has been discussed heavily throughout the season, little has been revealed about Chock, Pascal and Guy’s pasts with their ex-wives.

Life & Style exclusively obtained the final three contestants’ divorce papers for more insight into their previous marriages.

Chock Chapple

Chock, 60, has become a frontrunner after winning over Joan’s heart. “Chock was one of my strongest connections right from the beginning, and he’s fun and he’s kind and he’s just a really good guy,” Joan gushed during her hometown date with the Kansas native.

Prior to going on the show, Chock was engaged to his ex Katherine “Kathy” Elizabeth White Goree for nine years before she passed away in 2022.

Before Kathy, the insurance executive from Wichita, Kansas, was married to his ex-wife, Heather Chapple, for 12 years. The two welcomed daughter Taylor and son Tyler during their marriage.

Chock and Heather got married on June 29, 1998, in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Heather, an insurance agent, filed for divorce July 26, 2010, on grounds of incompatibility.

“The marriage relationship of the parties has deteriorated due to a state of incompatibility between the parties and Petitioner is entitled to a decree of divorce on these grounds,” the docs obtained by Life & Style state.

Their divorce was resolved on September 27, 2010.

Both parties were awarded joint legal custody of their two minor children (Taylor was born in 1999 and Tyler was born in 2001). A parenting plan was put in place at the time for joint legal custody, but Heather was granted primary residency of the children.

She was also granted ownership of their marital residence in Wichita, Kansas, and Chock was ordered to pay Heather an equalization payment of $342,884 as part of property division. This had to be paid within 30 days.

In addition, Heather received the couple’s Florida residence in Vero Beach. Thus, Chock was ordered to sign a Quit Claim Deed to the property, releasing his interest in the property.

He was also responsible to pay $2,025 per month in child support and had to provide health insurance for the children. There was no spousal support at the time of divorce and each party was responsible for their own attorney fees.

Chock received his two 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycles – each valued at $13,500 – and other household goods and furnishings in his possession, while Heather received the 2006 Lexus 470, but Chock was ordered to pay off the $20,000 loan.

He was also awarded 100 percent of the parties’ common capital stock shares in their Commercial Insurance Group (CIG) Insurance company and 100 percent of interest in Chap Rentals LLC. Both businesses combined totaled over $1.3 million, per the docs.

In September 2012, an agreed order upon the parties was entered, changing the current parenting time arrangement to one week on/one week off due to Chock’s ex’s work schedule where she was traveling between Kansas and Colorado.

In 2015, a new order was in place, decreasing Chock’s child support to $755 per month. Two years later, his child support was terminated altogether.

In August 2017, a new order was entered and Chock was awarded primary residential custody of their children. Heather was then obligated to pay child support to Chock in the amount of $560 per month.

Chock’s reported gross annual income in 2017 was $218,724.

Pascal Ibgui

Pascal, 70, has wooed Joan throughout the season, especially after she was introduced to his life at home in Chicago. After having some concerns about his interest in her, she revealed the side of him she’s most attracted to.

“I love that he’s a family man. He’s generous with his love and he’s generous with his heart. All these things are things that I admire in a man,” she gushed.

Pascal and his ex-wife, Tracy Ibgui, got married on August 19, 2001, in Illinois and welcomed two children together, Maxim (born October 2002) and daughter Sara (born September 2005). Pascal has another daughter, Natalie, from a previous relationship.

The Paris native and the nurse’s divorce was finalized in May 2012. Tracy, who is 18 years younger than Pascal, filed for divorce on grounds of irreconcilable differences. A divorce was granted after “efforts at reconciliation have failed.”

The parties entered a lengthy Marital Settlement Agreement and Joint Parenting Agreement in which joint legal custody was granted, but Tracy retained residential custody of the children.

They had agreed that neither party “shall introduce the children to a boyfriend/girlfriend until they are in a stable and committed relationship lasting over 6 months.”

Also, neither party “shall have an overnight guest of the opposite sex, other than a family member, at any time during which the children are staying with that party overnight until they are in a stable and committed relationship lasting over 6 months.”

According to the judgment, Tracy was given the 2010 Mercedes Benz and he was given the Hyundai Tucson as well as a sentimental French desk and mirror, which was identified as his sole and exclusive property.

The furniture, clothing and other personal belongings were equitably divided between the exes, including any China, artwork and photo albums.

Tracy and the children were granted the marital residence, but she had to pay Pascal $3,619 per month for the PITI (principal, interest, taxes and insurance) that were part of their mortgage. The property was put up for sale, so they were able to live there until it was sold.

Pascal, for his part, retained three properties (a mix of apartments and his business) as his sole and exclusive property.

He was ordered to pay $2,000 per month to Tracy in alimony and $4,500 per month in child support plus additional expenses.

Three years later, an updated agreed order was filed in October 2015 because Maxim had been residing with Pascal since June 2015 due to his enrollment in a school close to his father. The salon owner was to have temporary primary residential custody of him for the school year.

Pascal’s net income at the time was $150,000. His child support was reduced to $2,000 per month, totaling $24,000 per year. He also had to be responsible for the children’s health and dental insurance, plus pay $7,500 toward Tracy's attorney’s fees.

Guy Gansert

Guy Gansert, 66, has charmed Joan all the way to hometown dates, making her feel “hopeful” about finding love on the show. And, the same emotion was felt by the emergency room doctor.

After introducing the Golden Bachelorette lead to his family in Reno, Nevada, he confessed, "For the first time since my ex-wife, I think I could be falling in love. It's very heartwarming for me."

Heidi and Guy got divorced in 2021 things soon got messy. According to court documents obtained by Life & Style, the former couple reached a “no-contact agreement” in their divorce proceeding. But shortly after, Ms. Gansert filed an Application for Temporary Protective Order against the ER doc.

The U.S. Sun first broke the news at the beginning of October about the 2021 restraining order. Detailing the alleged incident that took place outside of the gym, Heidi stated Guy approached her vehicle and began to “disparage” her.

“He pointed his finger like a gun then 'shot' at me,” she claimed in the docs. “He motioned like he was going to shoot me with his hand shaped like a pistol.”

She also claimed, “He took Ambien at 4 a.m. He also said he took 10 pills. I don’t know if the pills were all Ambien. He doesn’t sleep and is extremely unstable.”

In addition, she said that Guy had “trespassed” her property and claimed he had been sending her “stacks of text messages” that she believed were threatening.

The temporary protection order was ultimately never granted after Heidi filed a request to withdraw the application in November 2021.

In September, Guy and Heidi tried to seal the documents before they were revealed to the public. However, their request was denied by the court.

In a statement posted on Guy’s Instagram, he spoke out about the restraining order. He told his followers, "My divorce was extremely difficult for me and led me to a very low point in my life and as a result I acted in a way that does not represent who I am. The past few years have caused me to conduct a deep personal evaluation, and I will always continue to work to improve myself.”

Joan, herself, weighed in on his past, saying, “I never saw that side of Guy or of anybody. … I knew that [his divorce] was very difficult and he felt very guilty about breaking up the family because of the kids. I had no idea what the interactions with his ex-wife were at that time, and so never suspected that there was anything bad.”
