Inside “Night Court's” Big Finale Wedding — Featuring a Surprise Return for Roz!

Roz finally gets married on the NBC comedy with a little help from her friends

Wedding bells will be ringing on Night Court!

PEOPLE has an inside look at the the NBC comedy’s season 2 finale, airing Tuesday night, which shows Roz (Marsha Warfield) and Loretta (Indira G. Wilson)'s wedding. The two wear coordinating white looks for the big day, with Roz donning a white blouse, white blazer and necklace, while Loretta opts for a white off-the-shoulder dress.

Though the couple look great, their wedding won't be a completely smooth event. According to a press release from the network, Roz and Loretta's venue falls through, leading generous and quick-thinking Abby (Melissa Rauch) to offer up the courtroom as a substitute for the big day.

This leads to a very sweet reunion between Roz, who fans grew to love on the original series as the no-nonsense bailiff, and her longtime friend, assistant DA-turned-public defender Dan (John Larroquette). As shown in two of the photos, Dan has no problems walking Roz down the aisle before sharing a sentimental embrace with her before her "I do's."

Elsewhere in the episode, Dan feels a spark with another wedding guest but learns he can’t quite shake his womanizing past. Abby and Jake (Ryan Hansen) also decide to keep things casual, and Gurgs (Lacretta), suspecting Roz’s wedding has somehow been sabotaged, does some sleuthing with help from Olivia (India de Beaufort), Wyatt (Nyambi Nyambi) and Flobert (Gary Anthony Williams).

In addition to Wilson, actors Julia Duffy (Susan), Gigi Rice (Katie) and Kenneth Mosley (Devin) will also make guest appearances on Tuesday's finale.

NBC’s original Night Court aired for nine seasons, from 1984 to 1992, with Larroquette, 76, and Warfield, 70, among the show’s original cast, which also included the late actors Charlie Robinson, Markie Post and Richard Moll.

During this winter’s Television Critics Association conference, Larroquette admitted he can be “very” sentimental during filming.

“Because of the timing, Charlie Robinson died while we were doing the pilot. Markie died not that long after. Richard Moll died, what, three or four months ago now,” he recalls. “Harry [Anderson] diedin 2017 or ‘18, so that was a little more removed. But as I said, it's like I see ghosts.”

For this new Night Court, Larroquette is joined by Rauch, 43, who costars as a judge and the daughter of Anderson's onscreen character Harry T. Stone.

Rauch told PEOPLE in January that the nostalgia level on set is high, partly thanks to several of Night Court’s set pieces — the couch in the judge’s chambers and the cafeteria chairs — which are actually from the original show’s set.

“Every time I sit on them or walk into the courtroom — which was an exact recreation from the plans of the original — I get a little nostalgic heart zing,” she said.

Night Court’s season 2 finale airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
