The Insider: Amateur hoofers show off their terpsichorean chops at dance-themed fundraiser
Giselle Albrecht is the best dancer in Palm Beach County.
Oh yes, she is.
Just ask Gleb Savchenko, Karina Smirnoff of "Dancing with the Stars" and actor Daniel Baldwin, the celebrity judges for the 2024 Dance The Night Away fundraiser for Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope. (CAHH)
The event took place April 6 at the Mar-Lago Club.

Artem Chigvintsev, the Season 29 Mirror Ball winner on "Dancing with the Stars" and an Emmy nominee for his choreography, served as the celebrity master of ceremonies for the evening.
The sold-out crowd began the night with cocktails and hors d'oeuvres around the pool, then moved to the ballroom for dinner, a live auction and the dance competition.
Eleven amateur dancers — who took private dance lessons from the Fred Astaire Studio for months in preparation — took center stage in front the celebrity judges and, as they say in the dance biz, burned up the floor.
The aforementioned Albrecht earned the Top Female Dancer award; the Top Male Dancer award was a tie between Almog Olshtein and Prince Mario Max Schauburg-Lippe.
Maria Galli was awarded the People’s Choice Award, receiving the most votes and raising the most money before and during the event
In addition to the winners, entrants included Luisa Monteverde, Jennifer Parker, Doti Strangret, Jennifer Tattanelli, Robert Dattolo, Michael Koppy and Jon Wine.
“This is an unforgettable evening full of glitz, excitement, and lots of dancing,” said Stanton Collemer, CEO of CAHH. “This event is a shining example of a community coming together to help those in need, and we are extremely thankful for all of our participants who took time out of their busy schedules to rehearse their routines and help us raise funds to support the mission of the Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope.”
The evening also included a special performance by Gillian Lieberman, the 2023 Female Dancer of the Year.
More than 400 people attended.
Proceeds assist Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope Inc. in its mission to ease the financial burden of local cancer patients by paying a portion of their nonmedical bills, supplementing basic needs and providing support and information resources.
