Insiders Revealed Blake Lively & Ryan Reynolds Have a Years-Long Feud With This Other Power Couple

This past month, most of the talk surrounding Blake Lively has been about her alleged feud with It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni. But while their unexpected feud surely threw fans for a loop, insiders are now revealing that Baldoni’s not the other celeb she has bad blood with.

According to new sources for Life & Style, Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds are at odds with fellow Hollywood power couple Margot Robbie and Tom Ackerley.

“These two couples are the most powerful people in the movie business right now and they all love working with other household names and big celebrities,” the source explained.

And as both couples continue to develop their projects, from their production studios to their alcohol brands and beyond, some of their mutual contacts are being put in an uncomfortable position. “It’s becoming painfully clear that you can’t be friends with Margot and Tom and also be friends with Ryan and Blake,” the source said. “It’s really forcing a lot of A-listers to pick sides.”

As for how this power-couple face-off began, the insider said it all started years ago when Robbie got the role of Naomi in 2013’s The Wolf of Wall Street instead of Lively. “Most people around Margot and Tom believe this all comes from Margot beating out Blake for the star-making female lead role in The Wolf of Wall Street more than ten years ago,” the insider revealed.

“They were both TV stars at the time but Blake was by far the more famous of the two of them at the time and Margot’s casting was kind of a shocking coup,” the source said. “After that Margot was a household name.”

In other words, Lively, who had a more established career at the time, felt like the rug was pulled from under her feet when she didn’t get the role. Instead, Robbie went on to receive huge critical acclaim for her role, instantly establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with in the industry. Safe to say Lively then got a little bitter.

Motivations aside, the insider gave their insights on how their feud has presented itself over the years, and who seems to be prevailing.

“Margot and Tom are serious competitors in the Aussie/Brit tradition but frankly, nobody in the business is better at long-term career strategy than Ryan – and he’s had Taylor Swift in his corner for more than eight years,” the source said.

But, despite all of Reynolds’ success, no one can deny the force that was Barbie in 2023. “Margot did really win the respect of the smart set in Hollywood with Barbie and picked up a lot of incredible new friends along the way, people who are picky about who they socialize with, like Jessica Chastain,” the source said.

“To Margot’s credit, she’s a lot less picky about who she’ll hang out with vs who she snubs, and has made a point to develop multiple projects with Olivia Wilde, even though Olivia is kind of in ‘movie jail’ at the moment after the Don’t Worry Darling debacle,” the source added.

Therefore, it seems that both couples are going strong in their own ambitions, with individual accomplishments like Deadpool & Wolverine and Barbie to show for it. However, with It Ends With Us getting the backlash it did, we can all agree that Robbie might be having the last laugh right now.
