The internet picks its best moments from the Golden Globes

Last night’s Golden Globe Awards was more than just a night to celebrate Hollywood’s most talented stars; the awards show turned into a protest movement pushing back against sexual misconduct. Most every attendee participated in the Time’s Up movement.

Some stars wore pins, others dressed in all black, eight A-list actresses even brought activists as their dates to the event. There were so many moments during the show where someone referenced Time’s Up — but the internet chose Natalie Portman’s protest as their favorite.

While onstage with filmmaker Ron Howard to present the award for Best Director, Portman said this: “And here are the all male nominees.” Natalie’s death stare at the camera resonated with Twitter and prompted some awesome responses.

The internet also latched onto the moment when James Franco won Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical for his portrayal of Tommy Wiseau in The Disaster Artist. Though the moment did not make mention of Time’s Up, Twitter certainly loved how hilarious Wiseau was when he tried to steal the microphone away from Franco. Even funnier, Franco was like, not a chance!

The biggest moment of the night, according to the internet, was when Oprah Winfrey was awarded the Cecil B. DeMille Award, which is given to the person who has made huge contributions to the world of entertainment. As expected, Oprah brought down the house with her inspirational speech.

Some on Twitter, however, believed that the speech was Oprah’s way of announcing she was running for president in 2020 — or at least they hope she will.

Oprah told CBS This Morning in October of last year that she was not interested in being president. “There will be no running for office of any kind for me,” she said. However, after her Golden Globes speech last night, the TV host’s longtime partner, Stedman Graham, told the Los Angeles Times, “It’s up to the people. She would absolutely do it.”

Well then, what’s it gonna be, Oprah?
