Internet Says Kamala Harris Is Giving 'Mariska Hargitay Vibes' After Approaching Reporters Like a TV 'Detective'

A new viral video of Vice President Kamala Harris casually greeting the press is chock-full of Olivia Benson energy, according to the internet.

The clip, which originated on C-Span, shows the presidential candidate crossing the tarmac, with what sounds like a helicopter idling in the background, to chat with reporters. She removed her sunglasses from her face as she approached, asking, "Whatcha got?" as she arrived in front of them.

"Why is she a homicide detective pulling up to a third body found in one day?" one X user questioned as they retweeted the video, and the rest of the internet was in clear agreement that the vice president appeared ready to step into Mariska Hargitay's shoes at the drop of a hat.

"Well she was a DA," one user reminded everyone, "but this is Mariska Hargitay vibes."

"DEFINITELY giving Benson energy here," another agreed, with someone else calling specific attention to her "Sunglasses and strut damn."

Others sounded off on the entertainment options Harris could feature in.

"looks like an episode of law and order: svu," one wrote, while another joked, "close enough, welcome back Olivia Benson from Law and Order."

"Definitely NCIS coded ??," someone else posited, while another suggested a brand new franchise altogether: "CSI: EXECUTIVE BRANCH."

Some also requested edits to the video, wanting to see the Law & Order theme or the "CSI guitar riff" placed at the start.

We have a feeling that the campaign's social media team is already on it, though, as they've been quick to the draw with plenty of other viral-worthy content—some people are convinced Harris was able to secure the millennial vote with a collaboration with Lance Bass—so we look forward to seeing that request come to fruition!
