"It was annoyed we were there," Sam Reid says of the spirit.

Aptly, the cast of AMC's Interview With the Vampire had some dead personnel on set with them while filming season 2.

Stars Sam Reid (Lestat de Lioncourt), Delainey Hayles (Claudia), and Assad Zaman (Armand) stopped by Entertainment Weekly's 2024 Comic-Con studio on Friday, where they revealed that they filmed episode 7's big trial scene on a haunted set.

The scene wherein Reid's Lestat testifies against Louis (Jacob Anderson), Claudia, and her mate in a trial staged by Santiago (Ben Daniels) at the Théatres des Vampires was filmed in an abandoned factory in the Prague countryside occupied by an "annoyed" ghost, the cast shared.

"That set was haunted," Reid told EW. "Everyone was convinced there was a ghost in there. There were accidents. Someone broke their ankle. Delainey, you had an accident."

"Or you were shoved by a ghost," quipped EW TV Editor Sam Highfill.

"Yeah, basically," Hayles said.

Reid added, "Everyone thought you were shoved by a ghost."

"It was weird because I had an out of body experience where I was like, I envisioned myself falling, and then I hit the ground," Hayles shared.

Reid noted that someone from the production crew even brought sage to set "and was walking around trying to give people protective candles," adding, "It was quite a vibe going on that people were very concerned."

Zaman said cast and crew respected the ghost. "We gave the ghost respect and was like, 'Leave us alone, let us finish this thing, and we’ll leave you alone.'"

"It was annoyed we were there," Reid said of the spirit.

Created by Rolin Jones and adapted from Anne Rice's gothic novel of the same name, Interview With the Vampire was recently renewed for season 3 by AMC. What are Reid and Co. excited to dig into in the upcoming season? Will fans be seeing Claudia despite her brutal demise in season 2's penultimate episode?

"I don't know," Hayles said.

Zaman added, "I'm looking forward to some music."

"We have some very talented writers on this show, obviously," Reid said. We also have some talented composers, and just seeing what they create is extraordinary."

So more wooden pianos? "Or real pianos," Reid added. "Or guitars. Or drums. Or French horns. Or saxophones." He jokes, "EDM boards."
