Irish Soccer Hooligans Hilariously Take Over a Live Sports Broadcast
The UEFA European Championship is in full swing, and, unfortunately, the bad behavior of the fans has gotten just as many headlines as the matches themselves. But some Irish soccer hooligans showed a softer side when taking over a Hungarian sports broadcast.
During a live shot on Hungary’s M4 Sports, a group of Ireland fans surrounded the reporter during his piece. Now, while typically this might be cause for concern, the group simply began cheering and playfully pushing the anchor.
Naturally, the next step was to put said reporter on their shoulders, which they promptly did. More impressive was the fact that the Hungarian sports anchor kept his report going despite the distraction, not missing a beat. Even more Irish fans got into the frenzy, and before long, the whole screen was filled with green jerseys and jovial laughs.
This isn’t that unusual, though, considering a group of Irish hooligans did the same thing during an Al Jazeera broadcast last November. While their rendition of “Come On You Boys in Green” was a little sloppy, it’s clear the fans were just having good, clean fun.
