Iroquois Amphitheater announces lineup for 85th season. Here's what to expect
Iroquois Amphitheater, 1080 Amphitheater Road, has announced its 2023 season lineup which includes Kansas, Little Feat, America, and more.
The amphitheater will kick off its 85th season with a free performance by the Louisville Youth Orchestra on Sunday, April 30 at 4 p.m., with gates opening at 3:30 p.m.
Others performers during the 2023 season include Gary Clark Jr., Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade, Gary Allan and Tracy Lawrence, Fitz and The Tantrums and Clutch.
A chance to win a pair of tickets to the Gary Clark Jr. show, taking place on Derby Eve, May 5, will be available on the Iroquois Amphitheater's Facebook page, where more details are provided.
"We’re looking forward to welcoming the community back to experience the charm of the Iroquois Amphitheater for the 85th season," Mayor Craig Greenberg said at a news conference Wednesday. "It’s an honor to be home of the official Amphitheater of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, nestled in vibrant south Louisville."

Iroquois Amphitheater has an 85-year history of providing a space for entertainment for the Louisville community. The venue was constructed in 1938 during President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Works Progress Administration initiative. Today, it is a state-of-the-art, handicapped-accessible theater nestled in Iroquois Park that has seats for over 2,000 fans. The venue is 100% outdoors with the added advantage of a roof.
This summer, the 2,366-seat outdoor venue will bring back its popular free movie series with two nights of family-friendly fun with showings of "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" on Thursday, May 4, and "Encanto" on Wednesday, June 7. Both free movies will begin at 8:30 p.m. with gates opening at least an hour prior to the event.
After the season ends, Iroquois Amphitheater will once again host the popular Jack O’Lantern Spectacular, a major fundraiser for the Park Alliance of Louisville, from Oct. 3-31. Additionally, a special community-wide celebration for the Iroquois Amphitheater's 85th season will be announced at a later date.
"The Amphitheater is not only a crown jewel of the south end, but for Louisville as a whole, providing a spectacular place for people to soak in the arts while being surrounded by nature," said Metro Councilmember Jennifer Chappell (D-15).

The Iroquois Amphitheater box office will be open for in-person ticket purchases on Thursdays from 1-6 p.m. and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For questions, call 502-368-5865.
