Irv Gotti Suffered Stroke, Rep Confirms After Wack 100’s Reveal

Irv Gotti has suffered a stroke earlier this year and is now in recovery mode. The news was revealed by Wack100 during a podcast episode on Monday (Aug. 26), and a representative confirmed the claim to TMZ afterward on Gotti’s behalf.

The rep told the outlet, “Irv has been struggling with diabetes for years, which caused him to have a minor stroke over six months ago.”

A positive update was also included, as the music executive is said to be in good spirits. “He has since changed his diet to eating more healthy. He’s been successful in making a full recovery. Irv is not in a rehab facility. He is at home with his family, enjoying life,” the rep confirmed.

Wack100 shared additional details, saying that he saw photos of the “Can I Live” producer looking like he “lost a lot of weight,” walking with a cane, and appearing to be outside of a rehab center at the time.

Irv Gotti has opened up in the past about his battle with diabetes, specifically on a previous episode of Drink Champs. During the August 2023 interview, the music manager said, “[Diabetes] runs rampant among Black people. What it does is, it starts deteriorating your body.” He then admitted he doesn’t have his situation under control, as he takes his insulin “only time to time.”

The Murder Inc. Records co-founder also made headlines earlier this year for being sued of sexual assault in Miami. The Miami New Times reported that a 54-year-old Jane Doe has accused the mogul of raping her on several occasions. The unnamed woman states that the incidents occurred from 2020 to 2022 in Saint Martin, Miami, and Atlanta.
