Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy, also from StudioCanal and Miramax, will additionally see Celia Imrie, Neil Pearson and Joanna Scanlan in returning roles. The film will hit cinemas internationally and on Peacock in the U.S. on Feb. 14, 2025, in time for Valentine’s Day.
Michael Morris, who helmed the Andrea Riseborough drama To Leslie, will direct the adaptation of the best-selling 2013 novel by Jones creator Helen Fielding. The novel Mad About a Boy has widow Jones returning to the dating scene and, unlike the earlier Bridget Jones books, now has tweets and texts added to her diary as she navigates life, work, family and love as a 51-year-old single mother.
Fielding wrote the script for the movie adaptation with contributions from Abi Morgan and Dan Mazer. The Bridget Jones films have brought in over $760 million in worldwide box office to date.
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy is produced by Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, and Jo Wallett, through Working Title Films, with Amelia Granger and Sarah-Jane Wright as executive producers alongside Fielding. StudioCanal will also co-finance and co-distribute in select international territories. Miramax is co-financing the film.
