J Prince Reacts To YSL’s Lil Woody And Prosecutor Mentioning Him In Trial
J Prince isn’t too fond of Lil Woody and Fulton County Deputy District Attorney Simone Hylton mentioning him during the YSL trial. On Monday (Aug. 26), the Rap-A-Lot Records founder took to Instagram to vent his frustrations with “fake-a** people” name-dropping him.
Prince then alluded to Young Thug being wrongly persecuted for “being inspired by a successful Black entrepreneur like myself.” The remainder of his post even indirectly took aim at Fulton County Deputy District Attorney Hylton and accused her of “Black-on-Black racism.”
“Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to fake-a** people putting my name in their mouth,” he typed. “But I still find it very interesting how some prosecutors will go above and beyond the call of duty to try and destroy a man’s life for being inspired by a successful Black entrepreneur like myself. Btw, Black-on-Black racism feels the worst. #freeyoungthug.”
The clip itself finds the prosecutor questioning Lil Woody, né Kenneth Copeland, about his controversial comments where he admitted to lying to police officers. Copeland asks if he remembers Thugger, asking whether or not he referenced J Prince as a possible inspiration in his life. Woody nonchalantly answered, “I guess,” before admitting that he doesn’t even know who the Hip-Hop icon is. Copeland then repeated his past statement, revealing that he knows nothing and that he effectively lied to law enforcement.
“I told you for the 10th time,” he said. “I’m gonna tell the police anything, and that’s what I did.”
Over the past couple of months, Lil Woody has repeatedly claimed to have lied to the police about Young Thug’s criminal activities and ties. Earlier this month, Copeland took the stand and explained why he began lying to authorities, saying, “This is what happened. The police kept locking me up for whatever they could. Every time I come out the door, the police was on me, and they keep bringing up Thug’s name. So what I did was to get ’em off me, I said, ‘Thug did this. Thug did that. Thug,’ because I knew they were — I knew he didn’t do it.”
