Ja Morant’s Second Signature Sneaker Gets Its Most Detailed Look Yet

It’s been a long time coming for Ja Morant’s second signature shoe with Nike.
Shortly after the Nike Ja 1 made its debut in February 2023, the Memphis Grizzlies star found himself embroiled in controversy. In March of that year, a gun-related social media post put his season on hold and in May, a similar incident resulted in another suspension that carried into the following NBA season.
All the while, Nike stood by him, and after a brief hiatus, the Ja 1 releases continued throughout the year. Now, with the traditional yearly timeline for signature sneakers having come and gone for the arrival of the Ja 2, it looks as though Nike Basketball is finally gearing up for the launch of Morant’s next model.
The Nike Ja 2’s first public appearance came in late July, when Morant was given a special pair of the sneakers during his induction into the Murray State Hall of Fame. Although images from the event were scarce, it offered the first in-person look at the Ja 2, which follows a similar shape of Morant’s first shoe. Now, thanks to @sneakerknockerzllc on Instagram, a detailed look at the Ja 2 has surfaced.
Said to be nicknamed the “Stargazer,” this Nike Ja 2’s full colorway is listed as “Bold Berry/Baltic Blue/Light Lemon Twist/Dark Raisin.” The colorful combination is a mostly purple Bold Berry look accented by speckled, star-esque midsole hits. The Light Lemon Twist shade is used on the Swoosh logos of the left shoe and the tongue’s Ja logo on the right shoe, while Baltic Blue fills in the Swooshes on the right shoe and the Ja logo on the left tongue for a mismatched aesthetic.
The in-depth photos reveal a number of previously unseen details on the sneakers. The shoe’s lateral ribbed side panel extends to a reflective overlay on the heel which is adorned with star graphics. On the inner side, a star pattern appears to be woven into the knit, while the medial midsole includes the names of Morant’s family: his daughter Kaari, sister (and fellow hooper) Teniya and his mother and father, Jamie and Tee.
Technical specs for the Nike Ja 2 have yet to be revealed, but more details are expected to be announced soon. As of now, the Nike Ja 2 “Stargazer” is slated to be released during October 2025 for a retail price of $120.
