Jackie Earle Haley Returns To Horror Genre As Star Of Benacus Entertainment’s Game Show Slasher ‘I’m Your Host’

EXCLUSIVE: Oscar-nominated actor Jackie Earle Haley has joined the cast of game show-themed slasher horror film I’m Your Host in the lead role.

Directed by DW Medoff (Pollen, I Will Never Leave You Alone) and written by Joey Miller, the movie follows a group of friends trapped in a deadly game show, where they must outwit a sadistic serial killer in a terrifying race for survival.

Haley was nominated for a Best Supporting Actor in the 2006 Academy Awards for his performance in Todd Field’s 2006 satirical melodrama Little Children.

The actor went on to play anti-hero Rorschach in Zach Snyder’s 2009 DC Comics superhero film Watchmen, and Freddy Krueger in the 2010 remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street.  More recently he has been seen in thriller Dead Money and Primetime Emmy Award-winning show Genius.

Atlanta-based Benacus Entertainment is producing I’m Your Host in association with Jacksonville-based company RNF Productions.

Producers Seth Michaels, Sara Sometti, Michaels and Reece Foster at Benacus Entertainment and RNF Productions welcomed Haley’s attachment to the film.

“Jackie’s ability to convey complex emotions and his remarkable screen presence make him the perfect choice to lead this film. His portrayal will elevate the tension and horror to a whole new level, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience his incredible performance in I Am Your Host,” they said.

Haley’s starring role in I’m Your Host was announced filming as filming gets underway in Rome.

He joins previously announced cast members Ella-Rae Smith (The Stranger, Into the Badlands), Jamie Flatters (Avatar 2, 3 & 4, The Forgotten Battle), David Angland (The Devil’s HourEverything Now), and Joelle Rae (Get Even, The Gallery).

Additional cast includes Eve Austin, Tom Claxton & Gerald Lepkowski. Production services in Italy are provided by Matteo Leurini’s company LRN.
