Jacksonville microbrewery selling off kegs, letting taps go dry as it closes

Craft beer on tap will flow three days then dry up as a Jacksonville microbrewery shutters its doors permanently after five years in business.

Tabula Rasa Brewing announced on social media that it is closing its taproom and brewery at 2385 Corbett St. in the city's Rail Yard District near downtown.

The brewery will open at noon Friday, Saturday and Sunday for its "final days" according to its website and Facebook page.

The owners couldn't be reached immediately for comment.

Tabula Rasa posted the closure announcement Monday evening. The microbrewery thanked customers but didn't say what prompted the closure.

Customers responded with dismay but wished the owners and staff well.

"Such sad news, a neighborhood gem that will truly be missed. Thank you for the great times delicious brews, and people I consider friends," one patron posted on Facebook.

The microbrewery is having a closing sale on all cases and cans. A 24-pack of 16-ounce cans will be $30. People can mix and match their choices.

In addition, Tabula Rasa posted: "We will be selling kegs no deposit no return, keep the keg as a souvenir."

Tabula Rasa was among about 21 notable craft breweries in the Jacksonville area in 2021.

Most recently, its tap list had 16 offerings such as Corbett Street Cream Ale, One Ping Only, an American IPA, Crazy Mona Coconut Porter, an American Porter and Tabula Rasa Standard Need Peanut Butter and Banana, a Hefeweizen, Untappd reported.
