Jacquees Surprises Deiondra Sanders With Proposal At Their Baby Shower
Jacquees is officially taking Deiondra Sanders off the market after asking for her hand in marriage.
The King of the remix revealed on Sunday (July 14) that he proposed to his pregnant girlfriend while at their baby shower to celebrate their budding baby boy.
“She said YES!” Jacquees captioned a photo of him putting a ring on it while surrounded by family and friends.
Lloyd and Vedo were among those who sent congratulatory sentiments to the happy couple.
The “Get It Shawty” crooner commented, “Congratulations Que and Deiondra! More life and more love together!” Vedo, who got married earlier this year, replied, “Congratulations my dawg!!!!!” Brian Casey of Jagged Edge also commented, “Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Now I get it & I’m mad I couldn’t be there bro ,but u already know what it Is, Congrats famo.”
Fans did slightly troll Jacquees after news of his engagement surfaced, though.
“He wants that baby to have his last name. By any means necessary!” one wrote while another praised him for “making a decent woman out of the woman you love!” They teased, “Ya mama raised ya right!”
The last name controversy came up in late May when the couple shared a vlog and Sanders said that their son wouldn’t be a junior because she’s unmarried, causing him to have two last names — Sanders-Broadnax.
They briefly went back-and-forth, but she clarified her stance in the comments. “What I SAID was my last name will be going in our childs name because I am not married and still use my last name. Que has also worked very hard for his own legacy and of course his son will have his last name also,” she explained.
In his proposal, Jacquees told Sanders, “I thank God for you honestly. We’ve been through so much in just a short period of time. I can remember when I first met you […] That night I knew it was really special because we didn’t do nothing. I knew we were locked in with God.”
Sanders confessed to being “very surprised” by the moment and both were overjoyed to celebrate their love.
When announcing her pregnancy back in March, the 31-year-old admitted that this wasn’t “planned nor expected,” but was a miracle from God.
“I’m having my baby for the 4 myomectomy surgeries I have had. I am having my baby for all the years I stayed on birth control even though it gave me breast tumors,” she wrote in a lengthy post. “I’m having my baby for all the Doctors that told me I wouldn’t make it out the first trimester. I’m having a baby for the 7 current fibroids that surrounds my uterus to this day. I’m having a baby for all the high risk moms that was scared everyday thinking they would miscarry.”
