James Corden Parodies the Classic ‘West Wing’ Walk-and-Talk
The Late Late Show did a parody of the classic walk-and-talk scene made famous by The West Wing. Allison Janney reprised her role as White House press secretary C.J. Cregg. She advised host James Corden on his opening monologue jokes as they marched through CBS studio offices. After going over some Donald Trump concepts, Corden was also flanked by beloved West Wing staffer Josh Lyman, played by Bradley Whitford.
The three continued their conversational stroll while going over more joke pitches for the opening monologue. Then things got surprisingly meta as they went over the roster of guests. Whitford and Janney were the guests for the night, and they referred to themselves as the guests while playing themselves during the sketch. Corden suggested that they do a West Wing parody sketch, which they were already doing. Whitford advised Corden that they could do a sketch of that nature but only if it was very short. At that, Corden promptly ended the sketch.
