Jana Kramer apologizes for making a 'joke' about her husband cheating on podcast
Jana Kramer made a joke about her husband Mike Caussin’s cheating scandal — but he definitely didn’t find it funny and now she’s apologizing.
On her latest Whine Down with Jana Kramer podcast, in which Caussin participates, the actress and singer made the comment while talking to some stars of TLC’s Seeking Sister Wife about polygamous relationships. “What guy doesn’t want that… to have different partners and to have sex?” Kramer quipped. “I mean, that’s why my husband cheated on me.”
While she immediately said “sorry, babe” to Caussin during the show, Kramer later posted a public apology on Instagram. In it, The One Tree Hill alum said that the former football player, who reportedly sought treatment for sex addiction after cheating on her in 2016, is a different man now, one that “has shown up in every way I could have hoped for.” She added that, going forward, she won’t bring up the cheating scandal on the podcast “because it is in the past and that’s where it needs to stay.” Though she added, “Unless it’s to help people.”

Kramer also explained in the post that she made the “joke” as a way of “coping with pain.” However, admitted, “That’s not the healthiest” way to handle it, “especially when it can hurt someone I care about.”
The “Dammit” singer and Caussin, her third husband, started dating in 2014. Although he cheated on her early in their relationship and they split, they got back together and were married in 2015. In 2016, shortly after they had their first child, they split after he was unfaithful again. However, after he was reportedly treated for his sex addiction in a Mississippi rehab facility, they got back together. They renewed their vows in 2017 and welcomed a son last year.
The pair has addressed his infidelity on the podcast before. In May, while discussing their marital problems, she admitted she sometimes felt “insecure” and “rejected” by Caussin if he doesn’t want to be intimate. “It’s not saying you don’t think I’m pretty or you don’t want to have sex with me,” she said. “But, you know when infidelity does play a part, that’s what affects our sex life and I get upset, you get upset.”
