Jane’s Addiction cancels remainder of tour after onstage fight
Jane’s Addiction has decided to pull the plug on the rest of their tour after fans caught an onstage scuffle between singer Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro.
“The band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group,” the band posted on Instagram Monday morning. “As such, they will be canceling the remainder of the tour.”
“Refunds for the canceled dates will be issued at your point of purchase- or if you purchased from a third-party resale site like StubHub, SeatGeek, etc, please reach out to them direct,” the statement continued.
The cancellation comes after videos were posted on social media from Friday’s show in Boston, which showed Farrell singing loudly into his mic and then lunging at Navarro. He then bumped Navarro with his shoulder before taking a swing at him with his right arm. The guitarist is seen holding his right arm out to keep Farrell away before Farrell is dragged away by others on stage. The show ended shortly after.
Navarro also posted a more detailed explanation of the cancellation on social media.

“Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour,” the post’s caption read. “Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative. We hope that he will find the help he needs.”
Navarro, along with bandmates Stephen Perkins and Eric Avery, explained how they “deeply regret” that they’re unable “to come through” for all the fans who “have already bought tickets.”
“We can see no solution that would either ensure a safe environment on stage or reliably allow us to deliver a great performance on a nightly basis,” they continued to explain. “Our hearts are broken.”

On Saturday, the band posted to its Instagram story, writing, “We want to extend a heartfelt apology to our fans for the events that unfolded [Friday] night.” The post continued, saying that Sunday’s show in Bridgeport, Connecticut, had been canceled as a result.
The band was currently on their “Imminent Redemption” tour, which started in early August. They had over a dozen dates left.
