Jane Lynch Likes Being “Only Murders in the Building” Victim Because She's 'Leo Rising': 'I Want to Be the Focus'
"You're the focus of everything," the star said of her latest role ahead of the 2024 Emmys
Jane Lynch isn't afraid to be the center of attention.
The Glee alum, 64, stars as Sazz Pataki on Hulu's Only Murders in the Building, and though her character was killed at the end of the third season, Lynch told E! News during the Emmys 2024 pre-show that she enjoys being the victim for the season-long mystery.
"John Hoffman, who's a showrunner, came up to me the season before and he said, 'You're our murder victim,' and I'm like, 'Oh!' I was really happy because what that means is that you get to be in a lot of the next season because they have to do flashbacks, and you're the focus of everything," she said.
"So I like that. I have Leo rising. I love that. I want to be the focus!"
This isn't the first time Lynch, who was born on July 14, has referred to her love for all things zodiac.
She previously told PEOPLE in August that while she doesn't "think it's going to happen," she would one day "want to do an astrology podcast."
The Emmy winner also noted how much she loves working alongside OMITB costar Steve Martin, as her character Sazz serves as the stunt double for Martin's actor character, Charles.
"The great thing about it is when we do a rehearsal for the scene, I just watch what he does and when he does this, when he does that, and if he changes it up, I have to stay on my toes," she said.

"But usually, he'll set it so that I can mirror it. So that's always a lot of fun. We don't kill that gimmick, that old chestnut, but we do it every once in a while and I think it's to great effect."
Lynch starred on Glee from 2009 to 2015 as Sue Sylvester, and she also spoke to E! about how she'd "love to see a whole season of Glee with just those pop songs [from the '60s and '70s]. The stuff I grew up with on a radio."
