Janet Jackson’s makeup artist talks Janet’s look
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Music superstar Janet Jackson is an icon, and she’ll be performing this weekend once again at Essence Fest.
A lot goes into making Jackson ready for her performance. The last time she performed at Essence Fest back in 2018, WGNO caught up with her makeup artist.
Preston Meneses has been doing Jackson’s makeup for more than a decade.
The last time Jackson was in New Orleans for a show, Meneses treated several women to the VIP treatment, doing their makeup for them during Essence Fest, as well.

“I think it is important for these women to understand that they can be anything that they want to be. Through makeup, you can paint on something, and you’ll feel like a new character, and with a new paint of makeup, it will make you feel stronger,” Meneses said.
Jackson will be performing on Sunday, June 7 at the Ceasars Superdome.
