Japanese Breakfast is back with a new song titled “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road (Pop Version),” Michelle Zauner’s rendition of a tune featured throughout the Disney+ Marvel show Agatha All Along. Stream it below.

Produced by the ubiquitous Jack Antonoff, Japanese Breakfast’s take joins previously released cast versions of “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road,” including the “True Crime Version, “Sacred Chant Version,” “Lorna Wu’s Version,” and “Agatha Through Time Version.”

Zauner’s airy vocals give the theatrical track a unique spin, along with a new verse about persevering through the worst of times: “We’re broken and we’re burned/ But take a breath/ And dance with death.”

It’s been a while since Zauner released new music as Japanese Breakfast. Her last album was 2021’s Jubilee, one of the best releases of the year. It was soon followed by the Sable video game soundtrack and she released a Korean version of her single “Be Sweet” in 2022.

Outside of music, Zauner is adapting her best-selling memoir, Crying in H Mart, into a feature film directed by The White Lotus star Will Sharpe.

New episodes of Agatha All Along will premiere on Disney+ through October 30th.
