Jason Bateman-Jude Law Drama ‘Black Rabbit’ Gets Netflix Green Light

Netflix has greenlit a limited series starring and executive produced by Jason Bateman and Jude Law.

The two actors will play brothers in Black Rabbit, a drama from creators Zach Baylin (King Richard, Bob Marley: One Love) and Kate Susman. Bateman is also set to direct the first two episodes.

The series has been in development since October 2022 and is based on an original idea from Baylin and Susman. The series logline reads, “When the owner of a New York City hotspot (Law) allows his turbulent brother (Bateman) back in his life, he opens the door to escalating dangers that threaten to bring down everything he’s built.” Cleopatra Coleman, Amaka Okafor, ??p?? Dìrísù and Dagmara Dominczyk also star.

Black Rabbit will be Bateman’s first series since Ozark concluded on Netflix in 2022. The show is the latest product of an overall film and TV deal Bateman and Michael Costigan’s Aggregate Films signed with the streamer in 2018. Aggregate has also produced feature films Your Place or Mine and the upcoming Hit Man and series Florida Man, among other projects, for Netflix.

Baylin and Susman will be showrunners on Black Rabbit and executive produce (via their Youngblood Pictures banner) with Bateman and Costigan for Aggregate; Law and Ben Jackson for Riff Raff Entertainment; and Andrew Hinderaker, Zac Frognowski, Justin Levy and David Bernon.
