Jason Kelce Explains the 4th of July Tradition That Is a 'Hard No'
Jason Kelce shared his one rule when it comes to a popular July 4th tradition: fireworks.
The Kelce brothers answered a fan question about the popular American holiday on the new episode of their podcast New Heights, which premiered on Wednesday, July 3, with a fan asking, "What's your favorite 4th of July memory?"
Jason didn't have a clear answer, saying, "I don't know, drinking beer and eating hot dogs?" as his brother Travis added, "Lighting fireworks?"
This is where Jason and Travis' opinions differed, as Jason noted that the Kelces weren't a "fireworks household" growing up. Despite that, Travis admitted, "I'm a fireworks man now."
"Growing up, Ed and Donna, that was a hard no," said Jason, who seemed to agree with his parents. "I'm not going to lie. I do not like lighting any of those things anywhere in my vicinity. I am out on the fireworks...I'm terrified of them." He clarified that he still loves watching fireworks but doesn't plan to get too close.
Travis also brought up how dangerous fireworks can be, especially around kids, telling his brother, "I think Dad and Aunt Judy knew someone at a young age that blew off their hand or something like that."
The Kelce brothers talked about a bunch of other exciting topics in the episode as well, including Travis' big Eras Tour debut, with the football star appearing on stage alongside girlfriend Taylor Swift in a surprise cameo in London.
Travis admitted that he first had the idea to be a part of the exciting concert, although Taylor came up with the "perfect" plan for incorporating him into her performance of "I Can Do It With A Broken Heart," a song from her newest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
While Jason was not in the audience at that particular show, he and his wife, Kylie Kelce, attended another night of Swift's London Eras Tour dates and appeared to really enjoy themselves.
