Jason Momoa visits Tasty Tacos, Waveland Cafe during trip back to Iowa to promote new vodka
One of Hollywood's biggest stars is back in Iowa, and he needed a taste of home.
Norwalk alum Jason Momoa made stops this past weekend at a Tasty Tacos location in the Des Moines metro and the Waveland Cafe on University Ave.
The respective restaurants posted Momoa's visits on their social media pages. During his pit stops at both restaurants, Momoa donned a Meili Vodka hat. The "Aquaman" actor is back in Iowa to promote the new vodka line with two Monday supermarket appearances with business partner Blaine Halvorson.
Momoa will appear during meet and greet events at his hometown Fareway, 1711 Sunset Drive in Norwalk, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and at the Urbandale Hy-Vee, 8701 Douglas Ave., from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.
The spirit was handcrafted in Bozeman, Montana. On Sunday night, Momoa teased the first stop on his promotional "Revolution Tour" in an Instagram post. He said he got to see some of his classmates and family.
"I'm at home, this is my hometown, Norwalk," he said in part.
Momoa and Halvorson will also stop in Missouri, Wisconsin and Minnesota before heading west for appearances in Vancouver and Seattle, Washington followed by a trip to Denver.
Momoa's most recent public visit to the region was last year after the actor presented eight awards at the Academy Awards ceremony in late March 2022. The Norwalk native dined at the Waveland Cafe, browsed at West End Architectural Salvage and Coffee Shop downtown and made a stop at Tasty Tacos' southside location.
The star was also allegedly spotted this weekend at the B-Bops on Fleur Drive, according to social media comments.
