Jay-Z calls out Kanye West's 'red hat' on Meek Mill's new album
Kanye West has made some enemies with his support of President Trump, and his conservative political views seem to have fueled his feud with Jay-Z.
On Meek Mill‘s new album, Championships, which dropped Friday, the track “What’s Free” features Jay-Z and Rick Ross referring to the “Make America Great Again” hat Kanye wore to the White House:
“No red hat, don’t Michael and Prince me and Ye / They separate you when you got Michael and Prince’s DNA / I ain’t one of these house n*ggas you bought / My house like a resort, my house bigger than yours / My spo—c’mon, man — my route better of course. …”
Jay-Z and Beyoncé have reportedly been outraged over Kanye’s “political rants” since Trump took office. A cryptic tweet from Kanye last month implied that he had changed his mind about the current president, but images of him in a MAGA hat couldn’t be erased so easily.
My eyes are now wide open and now realize I’ve been used to spread messages I don’t believe in. I am distancing myself from politics and completely focusing on being creative !!!

But not everyone thought the “What’s Free” line was meant as a dis.
Yo that Jay-Z line to Kanye was a head scratcher, that line can go a lot of different ways…

Pretty sure everyone ranting about Jay-Z "Shot" at Kanye is completely missing what Hov is saying:
The whole "I ain't a house nigga" line is at Trump, not Ye.
Hov is against attacking family. It's literally why he was mad at Ye in the 1st place. No way he'd do it too. pic.twitter.com/b1LlxPYiyp— Xtraordinary Loser🌊 (@xlcomedy) November 30, 2018
Why is everyone saying Jay-Z dissed Kanye on “What’s Free?” Those lines were all compliments.

Kanye’s beef with Jay-Z and Beyoncé predates his infatuation with Trump, though. It supposedly started in 2014, when the duo skipped his and Kim Kardashian’s wedding.
“I was hurt about them not coming to the wedding,” Kanye told Charlamagne tha God on iHeartRadio earlier this year. “I understand they were going through some things, but if it’s family, you’re not going to miss a wedding.”
While Jay-Z hasn’t said much about Kanye in public, Mill criticized Kanye’s prison reform efforts in an interview with Vulture published this week, saying he hadn’t addressed “anything that had to do with what was tough on justice reform.” Mill was released from prison in April pending a decision from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court on his conviction for gun and drug charges.
