Jay-Z And Michael Rubin Hosting $250,000 Blackjack Event In Atlantic City
Jay-Z and Michael Rubin are putting big money on the table.
According to Page Six, the two entrepreneurs are hosting a $250,000 blackjack tournament on Sunday (Sept. 15) in Atlantic City to celebrate the grand opening of the new Fanatics Sportsbook at Ocean Casino Resort.
The event is said to be invite-only, with high-profile guests, including Fanatics Sportsbook customers and friends. During the affair, NFL Sunday is set to play in the background as the tournament plays out. Both Hov and Rubin will reportedly sit in for the final table at the blackjack tourney at the event.
Jay-Z is the co-founder and an owner of Fanatic Sportsbook, located inside Ocean Casino Resort’s “The Gallery.” The luxury venue features a 12,000-square-foot gaming and bar space, a 100-foot elevated bar and lounge, and 140 feet of LED video walls, per Page Six.
Earlier this summer, the Brooklyn rapper hosted a 40/40 Club Pop-Up during Fanatics Fest, teasing what’s to come as he continues to broaden his business banner. The star-studded gathering brought celebrities in music, sports, and beyond to Rubin’s company event.
The guest list included Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, DJ Khaled, Taylor Rooks, Julius “Dr. J” Erving, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Stephen A. Smith, Tiffany Haddish, Quavo, Wale, Freeway, and more.
“It’s always been the plan to open a new spot. Finding the right location that makes sense to the brand is key, and that takes some time. We’ve narrowed it down to our last few choices and now we’re in the negotiation phase,” explained 40/40 Club Vice President of Operations, Sheldon Robinson.
Fanatics began as a single e-commerce deal in 2002 and now has grown into a full-scale global digital sports platform. The company launched Fanatics Betting & Gaming a year ago and is available in 22 states for online sports and has 21 retail sites, including the only sportsbook inside an NFL stadium at Commanders Field.
