Jayson Tatum Wears ‘Spider-Man’ Player-Exclusive Colorway of His Jordan Sneaker for His Son Deuce

Jayson Tatum debuted a web-slinging player-exclusive edition of his signature sneaker during the Boston Celtics’ overtime loss to the Indiana Pacers Wednesday night.
The Jordan Tatum 3 “Spider-Man” player-exclusive colorway was made for Tatum’s son Deuce, whose sixth birthday party was themed for the Marvel superhero. Wavy red panels are lined with blue for sneaker’s upper, while the midsole cutouts appear in white to invoke the eyes of Spider-Man’s mask. The upper’s contrasting panels appear black at first glance, but when you look closer you can see a smoky red graphic.
Despite the clear theme, the sneaker has not been made in collaboration with Marvel.
Tatum’s third signature sneaker from Jordan Brand launched in the beginning of October and boasts a Cuslon 3.0 foam midsole with a Zoom Air insert. The flexible upper is intended to conform to the wearer’s foot with wear and helps make the Tatum 3 the lightest sneaker in Jordan Brand’s performance lineup. Deuce’s name also appears on the inner tongue opposite Tatum’s logo, making each edition a tribute to his son. Fluid lines throughout the upper have made the Tatum 3 the most dynamic model of his signature line and intended to “represent his uninterrupted approach to the game and the foundation of his family tree.”
In a press release for the official reveal of the Tatum 3, the Celtics star said: “I don’t take having a signature shoe for granted. I’m grateful to be in a position where I can co-create with Jordan Brand and have fans connect with me through my shoe. My favorite part of the 3s is the way they take on color, so my hope is that we inspire and energize a lot of people through the colorway storytelling.”
This particular “Spider-Man” colorway for the Tatum 3 is likely to remain exclusive to him and not go on sale to the general public. Jordan Brand has previously collaborated with the animated Miles Morales franchise for two editions of the Air Jordan 1 each tied to a specific film.
