Jeffrey Dean Morgan to Host NBC’s ‘Destination X’ Competition Series
Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been tapped to host NBC’s upcoming adventure reality competition series Destination X.
The show, based on a format created by Belgian company Geronimo and distributed by BE-Entertainment, asks contestants to figure out where they are in the world, with “tweaks” to the real world designed to throw them off. The hosting gig marks The Walking Dead and The Boys actor’s first foray into unscripted TV.

Morgan’s scripted TV credits also include Grey’s Anatomy, Supernatural, Weeds, The Good Wife, Magic City and Texas Rising, while his film credits include P.S. I Love You, Watchmen and the upcoming movie Nowhere Men.
“Jeffrey Dean Morgan embodies the mischievous international man of mystery, making him the perfect host and puppet master for this new travel adventure series,” Corie Henson, executive vp of unscripted content, competition and game shows at NBCUniversal Entertainment, said in a statement. NBC is partnering with the BBC to adapt the Destination X format.
The broadcasters earlier teamed on the breakout unscripted show The Traitors, which is hosted by Alan Cumming.
Morgan added in his own statement: “Destination X captivated me with its blend of travel, mystery and gaming. I can’t wait to embark on this wild guessing game across the globe as Master of Ceremony, navigating players through challenges that test their mental and physical abilities.”
The Destination X series launched in Belgium in 2023 on commercial broadcaster VTM. The U.S. version will be produced by Twofour, part of ITV Studios, and Universal Television Alternative Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group.
Morgan, Andy Cadman, Lee Smithurst, Dan Adamson and David Clews will executive produce. Twofour will also produce the upcoming BBC adaptation of Destination X, with the host for the Brit series still to be announced.
