Jelly Roll
Country music star Jelly Roll has embarked on a whole new health journey, and so far, he seems to be completely thriving.
The 39-year-old crooner recently opened up about the changes he made to his lifestyle as he prepares for a 5K race taking place next month. And apparently, he already lost a significant amount of weight in the training process.
"I'm probably down 70-something pounds," Jelly Roll told People in a new interview published Saturday, April 13. "I've been really kicking a--, man. I'm doing two to three miles a day, four to six days a week."
Plus, the "Need a Favor" singer said he's been doing "20 to 30 minutes in the sauna, six minutes in a cold plunge every day," and that he is "eating healthy right now."
Jelly Roll will participate in the 2 Bears 5K with Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura, who co-host the popular comedy podcast 2 Bears, 1 Cave. The star-studded 5K event will take place at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif., on Tuesday, May 7.
"I feel really good," Jelly said about the progress he's made in training so far while looking forward to all of the possibilities that lie ahead of him should he keep up with the new lifestyle.
"I was thinking, I plan on losing another 100, 100-and-something [pounds]," he continued. "If I feel this good down this weight, man, I can only imagine what I'm going to feel like by the time I go on tour."
The "Save Me" artist has a handful of festival performances lined up for the summer, after which he will be kicking off his Beautifully Broken Tour. Opening night of the national tour will take place at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
